2009 Los Angeles Auto Show Overview
The Los Angeles Auto Show is one of the top automotive events worldwide and brings together the latest new vehicles from auto manufacturers around the world. It features more than 900 vehicles from sports cars and sedans to crossovers and minivans.
This year, the LA Auto Show had more than 30 World and North American debuts like the stylish and affordable Hyundai Sonata, Chevrolet's first electric vehicle- the Volt, plus the Outback and Legacy from Subaru which have led that manufacturer to record breaking sales in a down economy. A dozen futuristic concept vehicles were unveiled and almost all showcased forward-looking green technology, including the Volkswagen Up! Lite.
More than 50 new hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles including hybrids, modern clean-diesel, electric, hydrogen fuel cell, natural gas and ethanol-powered vehicles were also on display. James Bell, executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book, was there to give the inside scoop.
