Sergeant's® Pet Care Products and National Wildlife Federation® Launch Protected Wildlife Animal Series Toys

(Omaha, Neb. - March 11, 2008) /PRNewswire/ — Sergeant's Pet Care Products, in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation® (NWF), introduced the Protected Wildlife Animal Series dog toys that represent protected wildlife from four different geographical regions globally-Arctic Life, Marine Life, North American and Rain Forest. Sergeant's announced the product launch at the kick-off press conference for Global Pet Expo, the pet industry's largest trade show, in San Diego on Friday, February 15th, 2008.

"Sergeant's has a history of dedication to the health and well-being of pets and their environment," says Bob Scharf, Sergeant's president and CEO. "By working with the National Wildlife Federation®, we're able to bring awareness to endangered, protected and threatened animals from around the world. Now, just by giving their dog a toy from our new Protected Wildlife Animal Series, pet owners can help protect our planet in a fun and easy way."

The first four toys to be released include a Green Sea Turtle (Marine Life), a Polar Bear (Arctic Life), a Jaguar (Rainforest) and a Bison (North American). Each plush toy is packaged in recycled materials. The toys also feature an educational book with wildlife information and facts about each particular species, as well as the efforts underway to save the species and its habitat. For each product purchased, a donation will be made to directly support National Wildlife Federation's conservation and education programs. The toys are available nationwide at grocery, pet specialty and mass retailers.

"By partnering with Sergeant's we're able to empower pet lovers to take steps to protect wildlife for our children's future," said Tony Summers, Director of Cause Marketing at National Wildlife Federation®.

Julie Scardina, Animal Ambassador for SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove, helped Sergeant's and NWF celebrate the launch of the Protected Wildlife Animal Series dog toys by bringing a variety of exotic animals to the press conference, including Humboldt penguins, American alligators, a hyacinth macaw, a scarlet ibis and a cuscus. Scardina discussed the importance of helping protected species and praised Sergeant's and NWF for educating pet owners about caring for the environment.

In addition to the toy line, donations from the sales of Sergeant's Nature's Guardian natural flea and tick control products and health care products with the NWF logo on the packaging, will also support the NWF's mission.

National Wildlife Federation® is America's largest conservation organization with over 4 million members and supporters and a leader in nature education and conservation advocacy for over 70 years.
