PR Newswire’s Meet the Media gets Wired
LONDON, March 31 /PRNewswire/ — PR Newswire, the global leader in commercial news distribution, today announced the launch of the first of six Meet the Media events for 2010. The event will be held this evening at Altitude 360 in the heart of Westminster. David Rowan, Editor of Wired magazine's UK edition, will be the first guest speaker for 2010. Trained at The Times, David has edited The Guardian’s website, made TV films for Channel 4 News, written features for The Telegraph Magazine, Sunday Times Magazine and The Observer, as well as recently editing The Jewish Chronicle and Wired since its UK debut. Featuring stories about people and ideas that are changing the world, Wired won the 2009 launch of the Year at the British Society Magazine Awards.
Re-launched in association with PR Week in 2007, the Meet the Media series of events has become so successful, it boasts a database of over 800 PR’s who have requested to receive invitations to future events. Its objective is to provide a forum where PR and communications professionals can explore how, when, and with what kind of content to engage key media contacts.
Visit the Meet the Media website to see speaker biographies and video from previous events. Past speakers include representatives from the Financial Times, Sky News, The Economist, The British Medical Journal, BBC and The Guardian, as well as tutorials from social media experts. The site also hosts the French series of events, featuring the editors of La Tribune and France’s most popular healthcare publication, Le Quotidien Du Medecin.
