PROCTER & GAMBLE ANNOUNCES ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES
CINCINNATI, June 24, 2009 /PRNewswire/ — The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) today announced the following organizational changes:
- Charlotte R. Otto, (55), global external relations officer, will retire effective February 15, 2010, after 33 years of service and 13 years as head of external relations. She will step down from her current role on July 1, 2009. Ms. Otto will then serve on special assignment reporting to A. G. Lafley, chairman of the board, to support him in his role as full-time P&G chairman and chair of the 2009 Cincinnati community United Way campaign.
- Christopher D. Hassall, Ph.D., (55), currently vice president, corporate communications & reputation and North America external relations, has been named global external relations officer, effective July 1, 2009, reporting to Robert A. McDonald, newly elected president and chief executive on corporate-related external relations matters, and to Marc S. Pritchard, global brand building officer, on brand-related external relations matters.

On Hassall's appointment, McDonald said, "Chris Hassall brings the breadth, depth and diversity of experience to lead P&G external relations in the decade ahead. He is a seasoned external relations leader and practitioner with experience in the North America, Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa, Greater China and Asia regions. He has led strong brand building efforts, important cause programs including rapid growth of the P&G Hope Schools in China, and personally led P&G's relief program following the May 2008 Sichuan earthquake. He has built highly productive relationships with government officials on five continents and with a full spectrum of influencers from consumer advocacy groups and journalists to health, professional and trade associations.
