"The PSAs convey the powerful impact that a fulfilled wish has on the children and their families," said Kelli Seely, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles. "The generous support for this year's campaign PSAs from celebrities and public figures has been overwhelming. We're thrilled that the Southern California community is coming together to make the 2006 holiday season into A Season of Wishes for so many."
In addition to the use of public service announcements, Make-A-Wish Foundation will leverage the success of last year's inaugural campaign to continue to communicate the powerful impact that fulfilling a wish has on everyone associated with the experience by granting an unprecedented number of wishes throughout the coming year. In doing so, the campaign will share the power of a child's wish by granting wishes at public venues in Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire areas of Southern California, beginning with the granting of the season's first wish on November 19, 2006 at The Grove's Tree Lighting in Los Angeles.
The tree lighting will mark the start of a 6-week celebration featuring high profile events, community happenings, family activities and celebrity involvement all focused on creating awareness for the Foundation's rich history of providing heartfelt wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
