Jeff Durosko Communications (JDC) to Provide Pro Bono Services to Kilimanjaro Education Foundation
New York, NY, July 16, 2009 - /PRNewswire/— Kilimanjaro Education Foundation (KEF) today announced that Jeff Durosko Communications (JDC), a Pittsburgh-based strategic communications and public relations firm, will provide pro bono services to the KEF.
Jeff Durosko, president of JDC, possesses extensive experience and insight in the field of public relations, particularly in the education realm.
"Jeff and his firm bring more than 25 years of strategic communications and public relations experience to the KEF organization," said Todd Grossman, president of KEF. "I'm excited to begin partnering with Jeff on creating and leveraging more opportunities to inform and educate consumers, businesses and thought leaders about the importance of the KEF mission."
Currently, KEF is making efforts to assist additional schools at risk of being closed due to unsanitary conditions. Fundraising in the past year has resulted in vast improvements to schooling in the Mount Kilimanjaro area, including necessary renovations to the Olturoto Primary School, an educational facility housing over 900 students. The Foundation has also assisted volunteers in a number of charity climbs, hikes, and other fund raising activities.
"As the father of two elementary school aged children, I am keenly aware of the importance of education in my community - and it is clearly something that we in the United States take for granted," said Durosko. "The challenges faced in developing countries is almost unfathomable to most Americans and I hope that my work with KEF can, in some small way, help bring awareness to a much higher level the educational needs of children living in the countries surrounding Kilimanjaro."
Before launching his strategic communications consultancy in 2005, Durosko served as vice president of corporate communications at Education Management Corp., and previously as director of public relations and advertising at Robert Morris University. An award winning writer, Durosko's current firm has focused its current business on a number of industries, including technology, professional services, industrial, non-profits and education.
