"Hi I'm Nick Dambrie. I'm a steering committee member of Fix the Debt, a group of businesses, government and individuals concerned about America's national debt. Recently, more than 50 of us traveled to Washington DC from 19 different states to meet with Congress.

I asked Senators Collins, King, and Representatives Michaud and Pingree to work toward a responsible and bipartisan solution to our national debt. Here in Maine, businesses and local governments are being crushed by the debt, whether it's from regulatory and economic uncertainty, or shrinking government contracts and services. We need to reduce spending, protect invaluable government services like Social Security, and build a better tax code.

Those are solutions we all can get behind that will work for people of Maine.

Fix the Debt believes our lawmakers can work together to put our nation on track to long-term fiscal health.
