THE ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION ADDRESSES STIGMA DURING WORLD ALZHEIMER'S MONTH

Story Summary

THIS REPORT BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION.

THERE ARE 36 MILLION PEOPLE WORLDWIDE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA. YET, DEMENTIA AND ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE ARE OFTEN MISUNDERSTOOD, PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM SEEKING TREATMENT AND SUPPORT.

SEPTEMBER IS WORLD ALZHEIMER'S MONTH, AND YOUR CHANCE TO REDUCE THE STIGMA SURROUNDING ALZHEIMER'S.

ACTOR ALFRED MOLINA, WHOSE WIFE IS LIVING WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE, IS AN ALZHEIMER'S CHAMPION.

"There are two parts to the fight against Alzheimer's. One is the medical race to find a cure. The other is the fight against the stigma and stereotypes due to lack of understanding. My wife and I have been fortunate to find support in our community, from friends and family and from the Alzheimer's Association. We wish that for all the millions of families in the same situation."

THE ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION IS CALLING ON YOU TO "GO PURPLE" THIS MONTH TO HELP REDUCE STIGMA AND END ALZHEIMER'S.

WEAR PURPLE ON SEPTEMBER 21st TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT.
