POLL: MAJORITY OF AMERICANS SAY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HURTS ECONOMIC GROWTH
Shows Americans Increasingly More Concerned with Economic Opportunity than Taxing the Rich
Story Summary
THIS MULTIVU REPORT IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY PUBLIC NOTICE.
RATHER THAN FOCUSING ON TAX INCREASES ON THE WEATHLY, 44-PERCENT OF VOTERS FIND IT MORE CONCERNING THAT TOO FEW ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES EXIST FOR THE POOR AND MIDDLE CLASS TO BECOME RICH.
THAT'S ACCORDING TO A NEW POLL COMMISSIONED BY PUBLIC NOTICE, WHICH SURVEYED 800, "LIKELY" VOTERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY BETWEEN APRIL 9TH-12TH.
THE STUDY ALSO FOUND A MAJORITY – FIFTY-TWO PERCENT OF VOTERS – BELIEVE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HURTS ECONOMIC GROWTH.
GRETCHEN HAMEL – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC NOTICE:"The Senate defeated the so-called "Buffett Rule," and the polling my organization conducted makes it clear that voters are skeptical of Washington using a new tax like this to pay down the $15.6 trillion deficit. Americans are growing increasing alarmed by the massive federal debt, growing to nearly $50 thousand per every man, woman, and child. America demands a budget now - one that focuses on real deficit reduction and unites both sides of the aisle. It's time Washington stops nibbling around the edges and starts spending responsibly."
