ACTRESS AMANDA BYNES LENDS HER VOICE TO NEW CAMPAIGN TO HELP END TEEN DATING VIOLENCE
Story Summary:In its longtime fight to help end domestic violence, Mary Kay Inc. has teamed up with actress and celebrity Amanda Bynes together with non-profit partner Break the Cycle. Bynes visited a Los Angeles high school recently to talk with students about ways to create healthy relationships and prevent and end teen dating violence. As part of the event, Bynes and Mary Kay Inc. will announce a new, national campaign petitioning lawmakers nationwide to make domestic violence prevention awareness mandatory in schools. The online petition will be available at www.enddatingviolence.com beginning December 2. Currently, only Texas and Rhode Island have required domestic violence prevention to be part of its public school curriculum. Amanda Bynes will lead the online effort as she becomes the first person to sign the petition. A new groundbreaking interactive DVD from Break the Cycle, sponsored by Mary Kay Inc., entitled Ending Violence is part of this new proposed curriculum and is an important tool for educating teens about healthy relationships and ways to stop dating and domestic violence before it starts.
