The nation’s most prominent technology, healthcare, insurance and medical provider organizations led by Allscripts and Dell Computers announced a nationwide initiative to provide every physician in America access to free electronic prescribing – in an effort to improve patient safety. The unprecedented initiative will greatly accelerate the adoption of this technology since only about 5 percent of the nation’s 600,000 physicians currently use electronic prescribing platforms.
