A MODERN DAY NOAH'S ARK TAKES FLIGHT:

KILLER WHALE, DOLPHINS & 400 OTHER ANIMALS TAKE TO THE SKIES

Story Summary:

In a scene reminiscent of a modern-day Noah's Ark, a two-ton killer whale, four dolphins and a menagerie of more than 400 assorted other animals were loaded onto a 747 cargo jet for a cross-country flight from Cleveland to California.

The trans-America animal airlift includes mammals, birds, reptiles, insects and fish - everything from anteaters and Bottlenose dolphins to Shouka the killer whale. One of the big concerns -- who gets the window or aisle?

Tucked in an array of custom-designed water-tight transport units, big and small travel crates and sky kennels, the delicate cargo is delivered with care by a small army of veterinarians, animal care professionals and technical support staff to their new home, Six Flags Marine World located in San Francisco.
