to Help Physicians Communicate via

BACKGROUND

HealthyEmail™ is a new of nonprofit organization working to bring physicians, insurers, hospitals, pharmacies, manufacturers and other healthcare organizations together to jointly solve problems involving physicians' email communication. HealthyEmail will make email safer and practical for doctors and patients, hospitals, insurance companies; and will enable physicians to comply with the privacy aspects of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which requires physicians to safeguard sensitive health information sent over electronic networks by April 2003.

STORY SUMMARY

On Thursday February 27th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM ET at the 1116 Longworth House Office Building in Washington DC HealthyEmail will be introduced to members of Congress and healthcare industry luminaries. Participants will see how practical the use of secure email can be in the healthcare industry and the tools that will be distributed free to all U.S. based physicians and their office staffs. Announcements will be made of the healthcare facilities nationwide that will be awarded Dell computers by HealthyEmail to increase connectivity between physicians and their patients.
